Refund and Cancellation Policy
This Refund and Cancellation Policy ("Policy") sets out the terms on which Growdiesel Ventures Limited ("Growdiesel", "we", "us", or "our") processes refund and cancellation requests in respect of its online courses, live events, workshops, and consulting engagements.
This Policy forms part of and must be read in conjunction with Growdiesel's Terms and Conditions of Use and Engagement and Privacy and Data Protection Policy, both of which are available on our website. By completing a purchase of any course, event registration, or engagement with Growdiesel, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Policy.
This Policy has been prepared with due regard to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, and the Information Technology Act, 2000, as applicable to digital goods and services sold to consumers in India. Nothing in this Policy is intended to exclude or limit any right that you may have under applicable mandatory consumer protection law.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Course" | Any online training programme, video-based course, self-paced module, live cohort, or recorded educational content offered by Growdiesel through its digital platform at growdiesel.in or any other platform operated by Growdiesel. |
| "Event" | Any live or virtual workshop, seminar, bootcamp, site visit, networking programme, or other scheduled event organised or hosted by Growdiesel for which a registration fee is charged. |
| "Enrolment Date" | The date on which payment for a Course is successfully processed and confirmed by the payment gateway. |
| "Refund Window" | The period within which a refund request may be submitted, as specified for each category of Service in this Policy. |
| "Course Content" | Any video lecture, module, workbook, assessment, certificate, live session recording, or other material made available to an enrolled student upon or after enrolment. |
| "Consulting Engagement" | Any B2B or institutional project, consulting service, technology licensing arrangement, or professional service governed by a written Engagement Agreement between Growdiesel and a client. |
Given the digital and immediately accessible nature of online Course Content, all sales of Course enrolments are subject to the conditions set out in this Section. Growdiesel takes the quality of its Course Content seriously and is committed to ensuring that students receive genuine educational value. The refund terms set out herein reflect a balance between this commitment and the operational constraints applicable to the delivery of digital content.
A refund request in respect of a Course enrolment shall be considered eligible only where both of the following conditions are satisfied:
(a) the refund request is submitted within 7 calendar days of the Enrolment Date ("Course Refund Window"); and
(b) you have not accessed any portion of the Course Content, including any introductory or preview modules, live sessions, or downloadable materials, at the time of submitting the request.
Where either of the above conditions is not satisfied, the enrolment fee shall not be refundable, and no credit or substitution shall be offered in lieu of a refund, except as provided in Section 7 of this Policy.
For Courses that include a live cohort, scheduled live sessions, or a fixed programme start date, the Course Refund Window closes at the earlier of (a) 7 calendar days from the Enrolment Date or (b) 48 hours before the commencement of the first live session, whichever occurs first. No refund shall be available after the commencement of the live programme, regardless of attendance.
Where you are unable to access Course Content due to a documented technical failure originating on Growdiesel's platform, and such failure is verified by our technical team and persists for a period of more than 5 consecutive working days despite reasonable remediation efforts by Growdiesel, you may request a refund regardless of whether the Course Refund Window has elapsed. Such requests shall be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and Growdiesel may offer a remediation including extended access, access to an equivalent course, or a full or partial refund at its reasonable discretion.
Refund requests for Event registrations shall be evaluated in accordance with the following schedule, calculated from the date on which the written cancellation request is received by Growdiesel:
| Notice Period Before Event Date | Refund Entitlement |
|---|---|
| More than 14 calendar days before the Event | Full refund of the registration fee paid, less any applicable payment gateway transaction charges |
| Between 7 and 14 calendar days before the Event | 50 percent of the registration fee paid |
| Less than 7 calendar days before the Event | No refund. Registration fee is forfeited in full. |
| Non-attendance without prior cancellation | No refund. Registration fee is forfeited in full. |
For the purposes of this Section, the notice period shall be calculated from the date and time at which Growdiesel receives a written cancellation request at shrey@growdieselmail.com, and not from the date of dispatch.
In the event that Growdiesel cancels an Event prior to its commencement, all registered participants shall be entitled to a full refund of the registration fee paid. Where Growdiesel reschedules an Event to a materially different date or format, registered participants who are unable to attend the rescheduled Event may request a full refund within 7 calendar days of being notified of the change. Participants who do not submit a refund request within this period shall be deemed to have accepted the rescheduled Event.
For Events delivered in a hybrid or fully virtual format, the same cancellation schedule set out in Section 4.1 applies. Access to virtual Event recordings, where provided, shall not be refundable once such access has been granted, irrespective of whether the registrant attended the live session.
Where an Event is cancelled, postponed, or materially altered as a result of a Force Majeure Event (as defined in the Terms and Conditions), Growdiesel shall not be obligated to provide a refund but shall, at its election, offer affected registrants either a credit note of equivalent value applicable to any future Event or Course, or rescheduling to the next available edition of the same or a substantially similar Event. Where neither option is practicable within 6 months, a full refund shall be issued.
Refunds, cancellations, and termination rights in respect of Consulting Engagements are governed exclusively by the terms of the applicable written Engagement Agreement executed between Growdiesel and the client. This Policy does not apply to fees invoiced or paid under a Consulting Engagement.
Where a client seeks to terminate a Consulting Engagement in the absence of a specific termination provision in the Engagement Agreement, the following general principles shall apply: fees for all services rendered and expenses incurred up to the effective date of termination shall remain payable in full; retainer fees already paid shall not be refunded in respect of the period during which services were available or being delivered; and any advance payments made in respect of future milestones not yet commenced shall be assessed for refund on a pro-rata basis, taking into account any preparatory work, procurement, or third-party commitments undertaken by Growdiesel.
Your enrolment in a Course or registration for an Event is personal to you and is non-transferable. You may not transfer, assign, gift, resell, or otherwise make available your enrolment or registration to any other individual, whether for consideration or otherwise.
In exceptional circumstances, such as a documented medical incapacity preventing your participation, Growdiesel may at its sole discretion consider a request to transfer an Event registration to a colleague or nominee from the same organisation, provided that such request is made in writing at least 5 working days before the Event date and the proposed transferee meets any eligibility criteria for the Event. Approval of such transfers is not guaranteed and shall not be construed as a general right of transfer. No transfers of Course enrolments shall be considered under any circumstances.
Growdiesel recognises that there may be circumstances of genuine hardship or unforeseen events that fall outside the standard refund terms set out in this Policy. Requests citing exceptional circumstances, such as a serious medical condition affecting the purchaser or an immediate family member, a bereavement, or other significant and verifiable personal emergency, may be submitted to shrey@growdieselmail.com for consideration.
Such requests must be accompanied by relevant supporting documentation and will be reviewed by Growdiesel's management within 14 working days of receipt of a complete submission. Growdiesel reserves the right to determine, at its reasonable discretion, whether the circumstances cited constitute exceptional circumstances for the purposes of this Policy. Where a request is approved, Growdiesel may, at its election, offer a full or partial refund, a credit note applicable to a future Course or Event, extended access to the Course, or such other remedy as it considers appropriate in the circumstances.
The existence of this exceptional circumstances provision does not create any contractual right to a refund beyond the standard Refund Windows set out in this Policy and shall not be construed as a general entitlement or precedent.
All fees charged by Growdiesel are inclusive of or subject to Goods and Services Tax at the applicable rate. Where a refund is approved and processed, the corresponding GST amount shall also be refunded in accordance with the provisions of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, and applicable GST Rules. A revised credit note or cancellation invoice shall be issued by Growdiesel in accordance with applicable GST compliance requirements.
If you have claimed an input tax credit in respect of a GST invoice issued by Growdiesel and a refund is subsequently processed in respect of that invoice, you are responsible for reversing any input tax credit claimed, in accordance with your applicable GST compliance obligations. Growdiesel shall not be responsible for any GST liability arising from your failure to comply with this obligation.
Payment gateway transaction charges, where deducted at the time of processing, are not refundable by Growdiesel and are outside our control. The amount refunded to you may be net of such charges where they have been deducted at source by the payment gateway operator.
All refund requests must be submitted in writing by email to shrey@growdieselmail.com with the subject line "Refund Request [Your Full Name] [Course or Event Name]". Requests submitted through any other channel, including social media, phone calls, or WhatsApp, shall not be treated as formal refund requests for the purposes of this Policy.
Your refund request must include the following information to be considered complete:
| Required Information | Details |
|---|---|
| Full Name | As provided at the time of purchase |
| Email Address | The email address used to register or enrol |
| Course or Event Name | The exact name of the Course or Event in respect of which the refund is requested |
| Date of Purchase | The Enrolment Date or Event registration date |
| Transaction Reference | The payment gateway transaction ID or order number from your purchase confirmation email |
| Reason for Refund | A clear and honest description of the reason for your request |
| Supporting Documents | Where claiming exceptional circumstances under Section 7, relevant documentation in support of the claim |
Growdiesel will acknowledge receipt of your refund request within 72 hours of receiving a complete submission. A decision on your request will be communicated within 14 working days. Where your request is approved, the refund shall be processed to your original payment method within 7 to 10 working days of approval, subject to your bank or payment provider's processing timelines, which are outside Growdiesel's control.
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of your refund request, you may escalate the matter to our Grievance Officer by writing to shrey@growdieselmail.com with the subject line "Refund Grievance [Your Full Name]". Your escalation should include the original refund request, the decision communicated to you, and the specific grounds on which you are challenging that decision. The Grievance Officer will review your escalation and respond within 14 working days.
Growdiesel reserves the right to amend or revise this Policy at any time. The revised Policy shall be published on the Website with an updated effective date and shall apply to all purchases made on or after that date. For purchases made prior to the revision date, the Policy in force at the time of purchase shall govern the refund terms applicable to that purchase.
Growdiesel will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice of material changes to this Policy by displaying a notice on the Website or by communicating with registered users by email, where practicable.
